Last night I woke up at 3:00am with heartburn AND a certain spoiled rotten cat was trying to sleep where there wasn't room for her. For some reason she tries to curl up between or pillows and sleep between Greg and I. Last night those arrangements just weren't working.
After laying in bed for 20 minutes, unable to fall back asleep, I decide to go sleep on the couch. I can always elevate myself better when I have heartburn on the couch. Of course ALL the cats decide to follow me. April (the spoiled one) slept down by my feet, Dancer (the calico) slept on the floor under my quilt and Lily (the troublemaker) curled up on top of a cushion.
BEFORE laying down I decide to open Facebook to see anything going on. Then I opened up email to read. I was absolutely tickled to read that Bethany @ A Fish Who Likes Flowers gave me a Lovely Blog Award!

Seriously, thank you so much Bethany. I appreciate you "virtually" spending part of your day with me.
Now. I'm supposed to write 7 things about me that nobody in blogland knows. Does anyone else have a hard time talking about themselves? I sure do. Ask me about my kids and I'll boast and brag all day long... but me? Meh.
1.
I love to read, but it comes in spurts. Greg and I were on a 7-day cruise this past March and I read 7 books. YES 7 BOOKS. He had bought me a Nook for my birthday since I love to read so much. I downloaded a series from Charlaine Harris that focused on her character Aurora Teagarden. I read all of them :-)
2.
My absolute favorite color is green, except pastel green. I can't stand that color. Everything in my house would be green, but I'm smart and know that wouldn't work LOL
3.
I was an art major in high school and had a scholarship to the Savannah College of Art and Design. But being 17, I was stupid and afraid to leave home. I am very attached to my family (and sadly a boyfriend at the time- that's the supid part). I wound up going to college here and earned a degree in Sales and Marketing.
4.
My current "job" is with a staffing agency as a payroll administrator. My "dream" job is to be a SAHM to my son and daughter. Hopefully that dream will come true soon!
5.
I met my husband via the internet! I was a divorcee merely wanting to get back into the dating scene. I met my first husband when I was 18, married at 24, then officially divorced at 35. I kind of skipped the whole "bar scene" because my first husband is 6 years older than me and he'd already done it.
Greg and I had our first date on November 7th, which had to mean something because that was my parent's wedding anniversary! He proposed to me a year later, then we married in May of 2008. My whole reasoning was this: With my first husband we spent so much time THINKING about what we would do. We're not going to marry until this... We're not going to have kids until this... My second time around I wanted to go with my GUT FEELINGS. I loved Greg and wanted to be with him forever. It's over 4 years later and he still says "I love you" at least 5 times a day to me!
6.
We celebrate Christmas AND Hanukkah in my house. Greg is Jewish and I wouldn't give up my beliefs (which he was cool with anyway) so we do both. He actually enjoyed getting some sports-related ornaments to put on my tree. And I love having the Menorah out lighting the candles and listening to his prayers. We're both open-minded about everything and it works!
7.
I love the Rockabilly lifestyle. LOVE. But I don't live it. My best friends do, but I haven't gotten there yet. I love the Bettie Page bangs and full skirts! Sometimes I think I was born too late, because anything 1940's-1960's I LOVE lol. I do try to thrift for vintage and retro items to use in my house!
