So I got these 70's gold sconces on a recent thrifting trip for $5.00:
Pretty much EVERYBODY I knew growing up had these in their living rooms. All of our parents thought alike!
FYI- Brian has these painted black in his pad.
And this is how they turned out:
Sorry for all the pictures HAHA! I was trying to capture the effect I was working for. I primed them white and then painted them the same vanilla I used on my side table. To make it look "aged", I brushed and wiped wood stain in the cracks and crevices. I know these are plastic, but it still worked on top of the paint.
They didn't turn out perfect, but I'm happy with how they look. In a way I think they look like plaster or stone.
