Beloved

I finished Toni Morrison's book about slavery and it's impact and aftermath on one woman in July 2010. I sort of went in reverse with this one- I had seen the movie with Oprah Winfrey and Danny Glover, finding it so hauntingly tragic that years later I read the book. Though I couldn't relate to what impacted the character to make her life decisions, I could understand what would drive a person to make those decisions in connection with saving your children. Though I didn't agree with it, I sympathized with her throughout the entire book.
