Crochet Wristers

Here are more items that I have been making for my Etsy shop. These crochet wristers would make such CUTE stocking stuffers this year. Originally I made myself a pair to wear at work to keep my hands warm, but fingers free for data entry. They whipped up so quick I thought they'd make a great addition to my store.

Crochet Flower Bobby Pins

I've been so busy making things for my Etsy shop I haven't taken the time to BLOG about them. Time has really been slipping away from me LOL.

I whipped up some cute crochet flowers with different accent buttons and attached them to nickel bobby pins that I got from Hobby Lobby. This is a really good way to blow through a stash of yarn scraps.

Chunky Crochet Pillow

Hey there! I've got another yarn project to share with you today. Are you getting tired of yarn yet? LOL

In an effort to go through my endless stash of supplies, I whipped up this cute 12x12 pillow using very simple stitches.



I used a discontinued yarn called "Volata Tweed" manufactured by Gedifra. It's a heavy worsted weight yarn that's 100% new wool. It has dots of contrasting colors to give a "tweed" effect. Using a size N crochet hook, I worked with 2 strands held together.



I chained a base of 29 stitches, and alternated single stitches and half treble stitches (carried down to the lower row). I really wish I knew how to describe my stitches!



When I had the front and back completed, I held them together and crocheted a single stitch around to join both pieces. After 3 sides I slipped the pillow form inside and crocheted the pillow closed.

This was such an easy project to complete! Since I held 2 strands together, I used about 5 balls of yarn. Not bad since I only paid $2.50 a piece for them at a local Peddlars Mall :-)

Crocheted Footstool Cover

After browsing Pinterest (which I LOVE), I found a sweet little granny-square stool cover:

I was in the process of painting a little step-stool in a cream color. I originally thought about cutting some cute little images of feet out of vinyl to put on the top. THEN I saw the above picture.

Being someone who likes FAST projects, I grabbed some acrylic yarn, my size J crochet hook, and did some simple rows of half-treble stitches to cover the top.







I'm thinking this way, it will be a "skid-proof" way to use the stool. Anyone else have kids that are accident-prone??

Impeccable Swirls Beret

Since my Swirls beret hat was such a hit with my co-worker, she asked me if I could whip something up for her granddaughter. Knowing that the little lady in particular had beautiful curly blond hair, I chose a lavendar shade of Impeccable yarn I had in my stash.

I used my daughter H. as a head form and went to town shaping the beret to fit Miss E. I got a phone call from Miss E.'s mom this morning who said she didn't want to take it off at all! I love hearing news like that... it means the stuff I make doesn't suck too bad LOL. I wish I had a better pic though, but that's what happens when you're using cell phones nowadays HAHA. I Have A New Hat!

First of all, pay NOOOOO attention to my sour puss face. I'm totally in LURVE with my new hat :-P

I hit up Hancock Fabrics yesterday because they were running a sale on their Lion Brand yarn. I got a skein of Vanna's choice in a coffee color that had flecks of cream, brown and black in it (I guess it would help if I had the skein, but that would mean I'd have to be organized ALL the time and that's NOT going to happen any time soon).

I crocheted this darling cap in about a couple of hours, sitting on the couch with one kitty by my side and another on my lap. The third was too busy watching our Anole lizard chase his dinner to come and hang with us.

"Impeccable" Afghan

A couple of weekends ago I was in Michaels, browsing through the yarn. It seems like every other time I look at yarn there's a new style and brand. I found a section of yarn called "Impeccable" in some colors I just adored. I figured "What the heck, it's on sale, let's crochet another afghan."

now, the problem with that line of thinking... I don't finish a lot of my yarn projects unless it's something short and sweet. Do you ever find yourself starting projects and then moving on to the next new thing you want to make BEFORE you finish the previous project?

Well I sure do. I don't know if that could be labeled ADHD, but I know that my hands cannot keep up with my brain and creativity. I vowed this time I would finish the afghan!

So diligently I crocheted the hexagons into patterns and sewed them together. I got so excited when I was adding the border I didn't know what to do with myself. Here's a big project I was going to finish! Yee-haw!!!

I must say I did like working with this yarn. It was a decent worsted weight and pretty consistent throughout the strand. I may use it again for another project.

I purchased the mini-book "Home & Hearth" for the pattern (which is featured on the cover). I always change things up anyway, but for $3.95 I was okay with it.
